A Long Expected Party

My dear dear friend and her ever so dear children celebrated the boy childs birthday by arranging an adventure in the woods today! It was stunning. She is a ridiculously talented seamstress - and as she was busy building elven cloaks of Lothlorien - I was allowed to create a woodland picnic! And sooo - I am sharing a bit of the process and frankly - a fantastic party idea!
So here is the basket built
I wasn't able to make it to the super fancy foods market - or bake anything particularly special ... but I think it turned out quite well using just the local health food stores selections - (and I had such a marvelous time doing it!)^_^
Here are the contents,
~4 sorts of fancy cheeses sliced I sliced ahead (except the brie) and wrapped in parchment with string
~A half loaf of seed bread
~Some seasonal fruits
~teeny purple carrots
~An heirloom tomato (because... Hobbits)
~Dates with Almonds
~A cured Salami
~And a bottle of lavender soda disguised as an elfish flower wine
I threw in a small cutting board and some knifes as well as a homemade candle and tiny snail homemade holder with matches. Of course enamel cups for the dear things ~

And of course the best part - the birthday boy (nearly a young man now) so handsome in his Elven cloak -

The four with their viddles ~

They even endured occasional interruptions from a wood sprite (whose mama forgot to bring a change of clothes :3 )
and then here are the fairie folk girls - look at thems!!! ^_^ !!! The maiden fair and the dryad of the creek.
Aw!
